Do You Enjoy My Voice Acting?

HEY ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER FONRT PAGE POAST. WOPEE!

So anyway, this month has been extremely successful for me. D-Day Defender got over two million views online, TacoMan: The Gamemaster 3 got daily second, and some other awesome movies came out. Go ahead and check them out! All in all, I managed to get 5 trophies this month! AND ITS ALL THANKS TO YOU GUYEZ!! I did not expect people to enjoy my voice acting so much... I just thought people wouldnt like it. I was wrong wrong WRONG. Thanks guys, really.

So I have always wondered who here like it... I have gotten a lot of feedback, but I really would like to know just who enjoys my acting. And if you do, please say why! I have never heard anyone say WHY they enjoy it. So if you would like to stronlgy help me out here, make a comment on why/if you enjoy my acting. If you have never heard of me before, check out my stuff or something. :D PUHLEAZE. And if you ahte my voice acting, say why as well! :o

-->I am voice acting for a PC game called SWIFT.

I am currently voice acting for Makeshift, dec-1310, WCCC, KwikToon, and maybe JonBro, AlmightyHans, and BigFoot3290.

It's great your getting exposure, congrats, but when you say YOU got trophies, it sounds a little off. 99% of the work is in the producer's hands - it's their trophy lol

Anywho, what is needed of a judge in the VA competition? I've been VAing on newgrounds for a while, am a theater major experienced in improv and directing as well. I'm a VAC member and give demo critiques and I think I have a decent amount of VA knowledge.

Well if you are interested in judging for the contest I am holding, go ahead and PM me and I'll set you up as a judge with all the instructions and stuffings.

And voice acting work is about 10% of the flash. It is proper to say, "I got the trophy" because its really freaking hard to get just what the animator wants. Plus you have to record about 15 minutes for each animation. *I just recorded 35 minutes of lines for this flash I am working on*

Also, yes I agree. That WKUK flash is waaaaaaaay over rated. The creator didn't even write any of that. All he did was steal the audio, and animate it. Animate it very badly. It's not even colored for chrissakes.

lol look man, I made this to see WHY people liked my voice acting because if I know why they like it, I can continue using that aspect that they like about me! I get help from various voice actors so that I may improve through crticism. I also get that criticism in reviews, comments, and in chat rooms.

We voicetypes commonly work 15 mins to 1 hour on a project, while an animator/programmer will often work numerous hours for months, or even YEARS on a single game or animation. Most of the time, our vocal contribution is really, reeeeeally not 10%. At times, calling it 1% could even be a stretch.

Personally, I think 15 minutes of work isn't not very long at all. If you're only recording for 15 minutes, you should probably only have around 5-10 lines. And in comparison to hours of animating aside from concept, casting, directing, and writing... 15-30 minutes ain't too long, man. I'm not harshing you at all, because that would be harshing myself considering I enjoy VAing as well, but there have been animations with terrible voice acting that have received awards. Though I do agree it's hard to get what the animator wants, but this is not the professional world, so the main praise goes to them in my opinion, and we as voice actors are sadly not irreplaceable support :p

Anywho, nice chat - sure I'll PM you about judging details.

Well the time is not really what counts... usually I tend to record for about 2 hours. What matters is the quality. The effort it takes to make a voice sound correct is very hard to do and very frustrating. Now of course it is not as hard as making he game, but thats not my point. My point is that the animator needs that unique voice that his voice actor can give, and no one else can.

Plus, you said yourself some flash movies may take days to make, but voice acting, unless you're really busy and can only work for a few minutes at a time, will rarely take multiple sessions to complete for one project. If a flash animator cranks out a top notch animation in 10 days of hard ass work, that's impressive and probably took them a great deal of time. Some others put as much work time, but span that over a few weeks or months. You've not giving newgrounds' animator talent enough credit, brother. 10 days is damn impressive.

Half of the animations I've been in, I haven't even received co-author/collab, and I don't demand it or even think I deserve it. It's nice enough for the producer to even put my name on it. We just don't deserve that much credit lol I mean if they won a cash award for their flash animation, hell no would I want a piece of their winnings. Sorry for the double post ;)

Well everytime I talk to the people i work with, they always offer 10%. Why? Because they think the voice takes up 10% of the game. I agree 100% with you on we dont put in as much effort, but we still have that unique talent that makes a flash movie into a flash movie. Without that talent, the movie is not as good.
