Hey, here is serious question for you: If I sold an ambient album for ten bucks here at the NG store with about 12 tracks, each 4 - 9 minutes long, would you buy it? It would have a nice booklet filled with detailed album art done by Chris Blackall. The album would be titled "N" because the album goes into your mind and lets you listen to your subconscious through meditation. It's a real experimental, trippy, and poetic album.

Also, If you are a voice actor and want to try proving your skills here on Newgrounds, then you should totally join the 6th voice acting contest. We have had some really awesome talent show up in every contest, and had some real fun in the thread. In each contest I create a simple and specific list of rules that everyone must follow while creating their own voice acting skit. Read the thread here! I am sure you will be able to be really creative with the criteria.

If you end up winning, here is what you will get!

1st Place - $60 + Fabulous Front Page

No offense, but no. Your music here would work nicely for, say, a soundtrack, because it sets a mood. However apart from that it doesn't seem to be achieving anything. What is it you feel that makes your trippy ambience different to any other trippy ambience? I may just be a stubborn dickhole when it comes to music, but I like to see musicians and bands and composers set out to do something that hasn't been done, as opposed to just liking a type of music and going 'hey I could do that'. I'm not saying you shouldn't make ambient music, there's nothing wrong with ambient music at all. It just feels like the noises you're making are the same as the noises in every other piece of ambient music. Even the names of your pieces just sound like 'cool names for ambient music'. Your style is defined by what the ambient scene already decided is the cool thing to do. Your style SHOULD be defined by you. Don't be scared to have a few ideas of your own, especially if you're going to call the album 'experimental'. It just doesn't feel like you're experimenting enough so far.

Well actually, my music isnt really influenced by anything but what I want it to sound like. I don't know much about other ambient artists out there, I just like to try and come up with unique ways of creating cool soundscapes that come directly from my heart. I am not trying to bullshit anything here. I really do just compose what is inmy head.

My next song I am going to try and make as "unique" as possible actually, because I have noticed that my music isn't nescesarilly different. Then again, you have to realize that I am just starting getting serious with my music.

For my next song is going to start out with a realistic recording of two men fighting in the snow. One will get stabbed with a dagger and fall to the icy ground below. The other man will leave him there to die. After about a minute in, deep, icy pads starts coming in along with synths, and a nice steady beat. I am making everything mixed from recordings of kicking snow around, stepping on snow, throwing snow, hitting ice, tapping ice, e.t.c. Pretty much,the song will be what the man is hearing while dying.

In "Into the Eclipse" I composed the song from recordings I made while inside an airplane flying over new mexico. Although, the song lacks the sort of harmony I achieved in "Breathe with Me". I should have the album out by Summer, and I hope that you will enjoy the new pieces that I am planning on creating. They all have deep meaning behind them, and I do not mean to impose on them just being "another ambient song". The only influence I have is from Kingbastard and Steve Roach. All in all, I want my music to be DEFINED by me :)
