Jesus christ... thats incredible! I love this game, it was addicting as hell. ive come back to play it multiple times. I CANT WAIT FOR THE WORLD ONE TO COME OUT!! :D

Some huge improvments needed...

Personally i think this game is overrated, thus you do not get the needed critique in many reviews. Everyone seems to enjoy these games because they are sweet and from the heart. However, I found some huge things in this game that made it very annoying to play. First of all, the song itself is nice and all but the constant CLICK CLICK CLUNK of your foot against the pedal really started to bug me. All you need to do in order to fix that is when recording your next song, put some sort of material underneath the pedals so you cant hear them knocking against the wood.

Secondly, it took me forever to realize that I couldnt click everything that sparkled. The game just said click everything that sparkles to interact with it so I though i could click everything that sparkled not SOME of the things that sparkled. At first I thought it was my browser because I am using flash player 10. Please put clear instructions in your next one. A good way to do this in your style would have five items lined up in a row, each with a different color sparkle and the color in bold letters painted above each one. Have the first item in the room and when you get it, make it clear that you can click the item of that color and not all of them! This will make it sooo much clearer.

Finally, put in more sounds. you can still have sounds and maintain that soothing vibe the game gives. For instance, when you press a switch have a sound like CLICK that shows the player yes he did click the button. Also it just looks better in the game. When you jump have a fwoosh sound, and a tap sound when he lands. When lights go off make them go click. e.t.c.

I hope to see something else from you, I really feel these improvements are necessary but that is all up to you. Good luck, and good job for top of the day and week. Merry Christmas.

Damn...

Ive never seen anything like this. I always enjoy your complex programming capabilities. Even the idea is amazing. This has to be the coolest game Ive played this year. Everything is so original and it takes a good two hours to beat it all. I enjoyed every minute of it, wondering how my planet would look like the next wave and wondering what sorts of new and enjoyable enemies would pop up. The graphics were nice as well, offering a sort of indie style to the game that I enjoy seeing in games online. It seemed you turned an experimental idea into a wonderful masterpiece that can be turned into a great Iphone application!

Great job... you have a lot of talent.

P.S. Was that AS3?! That is top of the notch programming! I loved it!

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

It is AS3, I havent touched AS2 since 2007

Cool!

I submmited this as an underrated game of 2009 and looks like it made it to the front page! Well done!

Co-Author Xelu

That art was superb, and very original. It is rare to see art that good in games these days. He desrves a co-author so I would strongly recommend coing him. As for the programming, it was superb as well. Hell everything was superb. I loved this game and I was so glad you implemented medals into it. It is juusstt the right length and I loved the simple controls. I always enjoy your style colio, and the music was AWESOME.

Great job.

Coolio-Niato responds:

He's just on vacation at the moment, so I can't get his cobuddy. I will don't worry.

WOW!

This is one of the best games I have played here. Smooth incredible graphics, nice and calm atmosphere, detailed background with nice ambient rain and sound effects, GREAT GAME.

I loved collecting every single mushroom and found it a challenge on the old nogging to find all of their hiding spaces. I loved how you generated particle effects with coding using simple PIXELS for graphics. Nice job on that!

___SOUND___

10/10

The sound was brilliant. Every jump, walking movement, rain drop, collect of an item, and everything in between made perfect sound effects that didnt make the game unsoothing. It was a very relaxed feeling that kept me involved playing.

___GRAPHICS___

10/10

Extremely detailed art such as the background and 3D movements were used fantastically in this game. I always enjoyed looking at the mountains in the distance wondering how long it took you to draw them. Every tree and grass field looked almost alike, but you added a lot of extra bits and pieces to keep it unsimiliar to other trees and grass. I also loved the simple yet affective pixels that you coded to awesome particle effects.

___GAMEPLAY___

8/10

Maybe a bit repetitive, but i enjoyed how soothing the game was. It took me a while to find all of the mushrooms hiding places, and i have a feeling a missed a few, but it just seemed dull to go out and collect mushrooms over and over again. I liked the boss fight and activating the ruins though. I wish I could have killed the creatures with magic breath or something.

So all in all, Im giving you a 10 for making an obviously worked on game! GREAT JOB AND MAKE MORE!

Uhoh

Golly Gee Wilickers KevnFagn! Your not gonna do anything bad with my password are you? :'(

Well now that you know it i might as well tell the whole world.

I Love Your Work.

I am a large fan of point n click games / Room escape games and have played hundreds. Yours, however, outright beats them all. The detailed graphics and ambient background music makes the game very enjoyable while the plot makes me interested in how the game develops throughout each one in each series. I remember the awesome feeling that went up and down my spine when I first played "Submachine1" and how excited I got when you made the Extended version. I remember how kick ass it felt to play a brand new submachine game and how awesome the plot was. I remember how much I got into DayMare Town, trying to collect every single coin and beating it 100%.

So anyway, I am going to try and write a detailed review of all the games you have made so far. I hope you reply, I just want you to know that many people like me absolutley LOVE your games, but the reason it has a low score is because it is fairly difficult for the ole' noggin to digest. It requires critical thinking skills that many just dont care to try to use on an online game. Plus, they dont realize how hard it is to draw such an intense environment that your games have. So enough of the introduction, here is the REVIEW.

This game was not as good as the rest of them because it got rid of the feeling that you were the only one in the entire universe, the creepy feeling that Submachine gives you. Not one single person is seen, yet in this one more than 10 are who just stand there looking at you.

This one also did not have very much item finding which posed no challenge for me. I was hoping to see more of what happened from Covert Front 2, but not much was revealed. I hope that you put back the mysterious atmosphere present in the rest of your games. Ohh man I cant wait until you make your next submachine.

So I am giving you a 9 out of ten because you failed to please us who crave that mysterious atmosphere. Good luck on your future games.

ROFL

Lol man I found this game hilarious. I think it shows that there are very few real gamers here on NG if not very many can beat this and everyone screams at you for it when it isnt your fault we suck. xD

Great job man, keep it up. I enjoyed it. I almost beat it to! Im going for my 600th try. ;)

Terrible.

Graphics 10/10

The graphics were very well made with great textures and great backgrounds. Sadly, this is the only good thing I found in this game.

Play0/10

The gameplay is not original at all as it is just a simple quiz game with a so called "bomb" that gives you even ridiculously harder questions than the ones present! The difficulty need to be turned WAY down. I mean, who the fuck would care what the last name of some artists wife is? On top of the WHO WOULD KNOW? I ended up being able to miraculously get 10 right, but because you die after a measley 3 strikes with no checkpoints I could not continue.

Sounds0/10
The sounds get freaking annoying. I can't stand that music. even the correct and incorrect noises make me just want to shoot myself. You need to include a mute button in here for christs sake. I just muted my computer, of course, but hey wouldnt it be nice if you included a library of music to select from? Maybe 5 different song choices instead of one irritating loop.

Medals 1/10

Hey great medals! Yeah peopl are sure to LOVE this game now that it has medals! WRONG. The medals are entirely WAY to freaking hard. Get 25 questions in a row right? GET ALL OF THEM RIGHT? Barely anybody id gonna get that 100Point medal... hey at least I got 5 pts for failing.

Programming 4/10

The coding is easy to do and requires only simple frame and button coding knowledy like onPress() { gotoAndPlay("correct"). I would recommend using your art skills instead of your programming skills. Plus, there are tons of UNDEFINED bugs just laying around.

So anyway, I give you a 3 out of 10 for those reasons. I would recommend drawing art instead of making your own games. collaborate with a team of people. Sorry, but this needs some serious work.

pacdude responds:

God, after 8 years of making games, thank you for showing me the light.

The gameplay is fine, and yes, the questions are difficult. I would think that a challenge would be appreciated, but since your lowest common denominator public school ass couldn't handle these cultured questions, I suppose I'll throw in more Dragonball Z and Twilight quesitons. I stand by my questions and if you're not smart enough to play, then go watch Deal or No Deal and leave me alone.

My coding isn't as easy as it looks, and from the looks of your submissions, you're not good enough to carry yourself. I am, so I'm proud of it. Take your haterade and move the fuck on.

Oh, hello there. I guess you want to know who I am. I mainly create ambient music and voice act here on NG. Occasionally youll see me produce some silly animation or game. If you want to chat or something, send me a spanky danky PM. *Sig by Magical-Zorse*
