Lol watsup.

I could picture these lyrics with the song..

"Driving down the rown in my ice-cream truck
Running over kids thats gotta suck
I get out of the car to see what I've done
Realized what has happebned so I start to run
Crossin the border to El Mexico
Feelin kinda down so I get my self a ho..
Lot o chocholate! Then I cross the stree
And buy a few martinees for this guy named pete
Then a whole bunch of stuff starts goin down
and the cops start to come around
so we hide in the alley and build us a shack
get us some guns then head for Iraq
We meet a few mexicans theyre runnin too
so we join together and make ourself a crew
then all of sudden out of no where
pops Jesus with a black beard saying beware!
and he says..
"Now now my children theres no need to fret
In fact I dont really pose that big of a threat
Im only here for one big thing
Thats to give you all... ICE-CREAM!!

Lol. yeah I made that up. :D

Scribbler responds:

Those... Those are some pretty fancy lyrics, you should sing over this track and send it to me, I would really appreciate it. ^__^

Dudddeee,..

This wasnt sad.. it was horrorfying!! AHHHH!!!! I loved it!!! :D

Wont make it into the Mac contest though.. at least I think... sorry.

Flash-MX responds:

Thanks again! Yea I thought it was close to the edge there between sorrow and scary, up to the judges though I guess, glad you liked it!

Another piano song ehh?

Well not very original I'll tell you that.. but a beautiful piece non the less. Sounded like it could be used in a movie.

yeah.. it is an excellent loop mah brother. Grat job! I hate to tell you though... i dont think this will win the Mac 08 contest simply because every other one sounds like this lol. But the fact it is a loop makes all the difference. :)

Flash-MX responds:

Thats cool, I figured it was the same pretty much; and I probably should'ave been a little more patient when submitting to the MAC but meh, its my first one :D
Thanks for the great review! Glad you liked it! :D

Oh har har.

"I'm thinking of submitting this to the MAC instead of gravy." HA. Well anyway.. about the song. It was alright actually. Some of the pads didnt go well with eachother though.. as in you didnt play them very well lol X D Oh well, better luck next time.

VegetarianMeat responds:

What's so funny? Gravy is another song of mine that I intended to submit to the MAC, but I chose this one instead. I don't see what's wrong with how I played them, I think it sounds nice. Is it the pitch bending that bothered you? Regardless, I only submit stuff that I enjoy listening to, and think that others may enjoy as well. I obviously can't convince you to change your mind, but that's ok.

I appreciate you wishing me better luck, but to be honest, I found that kind of insulting. I don't rely on luck to create my music, and that comment came off as condescending to me.

I could of sworn I have heard this before...

This sounds like a remix of another song to me. Then again, you probably just discovered the notes when playing around, and they have been used by other musicians in the past by complete coincidence. It wasnt sad.. at first it was.. but then that sweet gnarly beat came in. That made me want to start dancing you know? If it was sad, however, this would be a very nice original entry for the Mac 08. The judges may think it is sad though so keep your hopes up!

Koriigahn responds:

Hey there!

Strange thing is about the chord progression in this song is that only recently did a find a lot of songs had the same three chords at the start, for example, the Peril theme out of Halo, or the theme from World Trade Centre.

But it is a pretty well known chord phrase, and its been used since the romantic period of music. (Like, 800 year ago)

So yeah, i wouldn't really be surprised if you'd heard the chords before in another song :P

Thanks for reviewing man!

Cheers,
Conor

uplifting really.

Because this song is more uplifting with high spirits than sad, it doesnt fit well in the Mac 08 contest. Also, it sounds a lot like the other entries. Stil though, you did and Ok job with this. You inserted the drum sounds in sometimes the wrong places.. and some of the sounds didnt fit very well together... but other than that, it was a nice listen.

Carf responds:

Well eerw thank you for the comment.

Just a little feedback to your words.
Uplifting is the very last vibe this song should give ya, its my own inspiration for a funeral that happens in one of the stories that I am writting. The drums are just a bit offbeat to give it an ambient vibe, for me there are no rules within making music, cause if there where rules, then where is the originality/creativity? I dont care/mind if the song *sounds like* others in the list, for me participating is more value then winning, mostly because I admire the fact that I am able to make so many kinds of different music. Ofcourse there are MUCH better and more skilled people out there, but music that I create, is just for myself at the first place, if other people like it to, its only a little stroke on my creative ego, cause then I know that I did a good job ;).

Keep up the creativity.

Eck!

You are trying to reveal your talent.. but you just composed this terribly dude. The vocals sounded awful and some of the guitar playing was off tune.

takethatsubspace responds:

i don't hear the out of tune guitar, maybe a flubbed note somewhere, but i tend to stay in tune when i record.

NOt very sad but a good song.

The song isnt sad at all so it doesnt fit very well in the Mac 08 contest. I liked the vocals though and the instruments sounded great. Keep it up! :)

takethatsubspace responds:

thanks fat kid.

How did you record this?

Just wondering. Oh and I dont think this will win the Mac 08 contest because every other song sounds a lot like this. I have repeated myself through each review I have written on this contest so dont worry lol.. I am not a judge either.

As for the song, it sounded wonderful as all piano songs with violins should sound. Good job. :)

SinJim responds:

I used Logic Mainstage to perform the track wit my midi keyboard and I used Wiretap Studio to record the sound back in. I like the sound of it and it being live gives it that "extra" feeling. I do agree with you because there's a lot of entries that sound like this. I do believe that there's a lot of really good entries. It's all in good fun and hopefully we can make a collection or podcast with a bunch of the songs, that'd be fun.

Thanks for the good review, and good luck to you in the contest!

~SinJim

Hmm.

It had a very mediveal tone to it. The harps and epic sounds made it seem like you were going on a journey on a mountain or something. A good entry into the contest, but because 80% of them sound a lot like this... It might not win. The one to win will probably have vocals in them... and will be very original.

Great song overall though.

DzGuy responds:

Like I said, this is my first classical song so of course it's not that good lol. Thanks for the review!

Oh, hello there. I guess you want to know who I am. I mainly create ambient music and voice act here on NG. Occasionally youll see me produce some silly animation or game. If you want to chat or something, send me a spanky danky PM. *Sig by Magical-Zorse*
