1940 Samples? Thats preety cool.

I know you were trying to implement a sort of shaky feeling into the listeners, a sort of feeling that would bring a tear to our eyes, but I thought i twas just a bit to corny for my taste. In my opinion you shouldnt have that sample. It takes away from the harmony of the song and turns it into a corny fest. I think near 2 minutes you should have slowly flown in a trance synth and a trance synth that would make this song COMPLETLY EPIC. You could also add a few more synths.. hell you should add a lot of synths.

All in all, it was a nice listen. You are an underrated artist. Next time you release a song tell me and I will do my best to get you to the top of the week. I know people who would gladly give songs like this the 5s they deserve.

CKC2009 responds:

thanks, i thought the charlie chaplin vocal sample, added nicely to the song, given it a sorta message unlike jsut havin it b epic.

And i didnt add synths cos i wanted the song to be organic or real.. hard to explain.. but u no.

Nice One

The slow style of the deep beat and the strings in the background are an awesome mix of harmony and hip hop. I expected some sort of lyrics to come in, but the follow up of instruments was just as nice. I really think you should consider adding lyrics to this one, or your next hip hop song. I could write them for you actually. This one seems to have a sort of beat that could be flowed to nicely and easily. Desert Child is a nice name.. hmm... how about a boy training to go fight off a dragon in the dessert? A legend of zelda tribute fan fiction?

The only thing im mad about is that you ended it off so suddenly. Come on man add on ot this shit! THIS IS GREAT. Dont give up inspiraton or something, keep on going. Lyrics should begin at 33 seconds man.

CKC2009 responds:

lol but the sudden ending makes u want to listen to this over and over.. makin more playable :P

Long time no see bud!

Its about time your incredible music gor top of the week like it use to so long ago. I remember those days when I would very often see your (WF1***) signature in the top 5. This song deserves every little note on the top 5. I absolutley loved the change from strange and exotic to trance and dance. Good god, how many different instruments did you use here anyway? 1000? xD

Very nice job bud, this song is added to my favs now. Amazing talent youve got here. I might use it for my upcoming point n click adventure, McFargles. :)

wyldfyre1 responds:

you know what, i'm not totally sure how many instruments we used. I know it was a lot though LOL usually when Jesse and i collab we like to put in as many different types of sounds as we can LOL.

DAMN RIGHT THATS KICKIN

I am loving this buildup. It seems so qiet at first and has an epic synth and slowwlly SLOWWLLYYYY gets bigger and bigger. Then it goes onto an awesome synth and beat yet is still a bit silent. Your right, it does take a while to kick in but I am loving the buildup!

OH HELL YES AT 1:35 THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. That syth is the best synth ever... holy shit dude. i could dance to this for hours. I could get glowsticks out and raise de roof *lol*

at 2:25 when the song cuts off to something else you should put in a background wave pad that makes it sound a bit better when transitioning. This makes it so that people can still dance at the tempo of the song without being distracted by such a drastic change in the beat and synth.

All in all this is a great song and even ends with a classic deep piano just like moby did on his matrix song. Great job, epic. Why didnt this get top of the week?

CKC2009 responds:

because NG is corrupted...

Nice Hardstyle.

Its very rare to fins hardstyle tracne that is good now adays. The instrument wasnt peaked, it wasnt too edgy, it was just right. Also, it seemed as if it was a realy instrument. What program is this? I love the variety in this. You seemed to never repeat anything. Kick ass.

Makes me want to get up and dance. Congrats for top of the week, you deserve it.

VERY original.

ephixa responds:

I use fl studio and 3 vsts

Awwww dog.

Mind if I use this in a yoyo competetion? I am video taping it, or hoping to. It is going to be here in a couple of weeks. This is almost perfect for it.

Fredgy responds:

of course you can use it ;)
but explain the whole thing in a pm then please! :)
thanks!

Drums

I SUCK AT MAKING DRUMS, you on the other hand really have a talent for it. That second drum was absolutely orgasmic and you even continued it with a VERY nice twinkling synth and awesome filtered pads in the background. Very nice use of distortion and glitch sounds.

...I might need you to create some drums for me for my next song, or at least teach me how hahah cause im really bad at drums :P

Loving this.

oESL responds:

Hah, nice review!! Thanks, I just wint a little crazy on distortion and the mixing of drums etc. but I think the result was good

I'm up for making something collaboratively, just send me what you've got so far :)

REASON?!

Awww you lucky bastard! If only I could get my hands on reason... eh I wouldnt know where to begin with the program. From what i have heard, it is a WONDERFUL program for creating ambient songs. This song at first sounded like a pink floydish sounding beginning to a circus theme song. Then it turned into just a weird glitchy orchestra with pads in the back and glitch sounds in the front.

This was a good experimental song on making glitch noises sound good in a song. I loved the swirling glitch pad at 1:50, but you ended the drums too abruptly. You can end things abruptly, but make sure the sound that follows replaces those drums to such an extent, that you barely care the drums ended so suddenly. Its kind of hard to explain but I hope youll understand heh.

I would mainly recommend changing that main glitch synth to a much more enjoyable sounding instrument. For this specific song, however, the glitch was a very nice trippy effect. Nice tempo.

oESL responds:

Yeah, Reason is fantastic, I've tried FL Studio but it just was not for me.

I get what your saying with the drums ending so abruptly, Definitely something I will keep in mind for the next song. Maybe some light Hi-hat tapping and snare combination... Don't know why, but I always do the break. I also get the synth change, but I've heard it so much now it melts into the song.

Thank you for your great review. This is what I love about Newgrounds :3

Lmao

Stickam is the best thing ever, and so is this. Thank you.

BrokenPaw responds:

You're welcome.

LOL

Ok, i hope this gets #1 of the week. I would love to hear it when i entered the audio portal... ahahahah.

ForNoReason responds:

Your wish is granted! Thanks!

Oh, hello there. I guess you want to know who I am. I mainly create ambient music and voice act here on NG. Occasionally youll see me produce some silly animation or game. If you want to chat or something, send me a spanky danky PM. *Sig by Magical-Zorse*
